You may have seen on social media that Lottie, Founder of Moveology, has been deepening her knowledge and progressing her qualifications throughout 2025. Building on her Level 3 Sports Massage background, she has now advanced into Level 4 Soft Tissue Therapy and Muscle Dysfunction, with the final stage of her acupuncture training being completed across November and early December.
This progression enables Moveology to expand the depth of care, treatment quality, and personalised support we offer our clients.
Sports Massage vs. Soft Tissue Therapy: What’s the Difference?
While a traditional sports massage is fantastic for easing tight muscles, improving circulation, and supporting general recovery, Soft Tissue Therapy takes a more clinical and diagnostic approach.
Soft Tissue Therapy typically begins with:
-
A full postural assessment
-
Range of movement testing
-
Identification of dysfunctions or imbalances
-
Understanding how these may be affecting pain, daily movement, or athletic performance
This approach allows us to look beyond the symptoms and identify the underlying causes. From there, a personalised treatment plan can be created, often combining hands-on techniques with targeted movement strategies designed to restore optimal function and support long-term progress.
Why Combining Both Is Even More Effective
The good news? You don’t need to choose one treatment over the other.
Lottie’s expanded skill set means you can benefit from the immediate relief of deeper massage techniques alongside the longer-lasting results of corrective soft tissue work and movement-focused strategies.
This integrated approach is ideal for:
-
Injury recovery
-
Chronic tension or mobility issues
-
Performance improvement
-
Preventative care
-
Anyone who simply wants to move and feel better
